Enclosed Motor Circuit Controllers and Molded Case Circuit Breakers

Preassembled, Enclosed And Ready To Go

Sprecher + Schuh's complete series of KT7 Motor Circuit Controllers are available in compact, enclosed models up to 40 HP (@575V). The KTA7 Motor Circuit Controller and the CX7 Series of Combination Starters are preassembled in a variety of HP sizes and configurations, yet have a compact housing for lower overall costs. KTU7 Molded Case Circuit Breakers are also available in a variety of standard enclosures for onsite assembly or shipped ready to install.

Enclosure Types Available

• Non-metallic IP65 (watertight, dust tight)
• Type 4/4X/12 (watertight, dust tight, corrosion resistant)
• Explosion Proof (Class I, Group B,C, D and Class II, Group E, F, G)

KTA7 Type-E Self-Protected Manual Motor Controllers Enclosed KTA7 & KTC7 motor controllers can be applied as an individual Manual Self-Protected Combination Motor Controller or as an individual Manual Motor Starter dependent on the ratings of the individual unit. A Self-protected Combination Motor Controller (UL508 Construction Type E) performs all the functions of a Manual Combo starter including a UL approved means “Disconnect” with lockable and defeatable handle mechanism, short-circuit protection and overload protection for motor applications. A UL508 Manual Motor Controller is a manual motor starter including a motor disconnect combined with an overload relay. Both can be combined with auxiliary contacts, shunt-trip or under-voltage trip units to meet your application requirements, and include non-metallic, metallic, or explosion-proof enclosures.

Enclosed Molded Case Circuit Breakers

Enclosed KTU7 molded case circuit breakers are available for the protection of non-motor loads. Enclosed KTU7, when combined with matching environmentally approved thru-the-door handle disconnect mechanisms, are 480Y/277Volt or 600Y/347 volt UL489 approved circuit breakers. KTU7 offers at least 65 KAIC withstand ratings which exceeds those offered by many 600 Volt Class Molded Case Circuit Breakers, which are larger and more expensive. Enclosed KTU7 can be combined with auxiliary contacts, shunt-trip or under-voltage trip units to meet your application requirements.

Enclosed Type E/F Combination Starters

KTA7 or KTC7 can be applied in combination with a CA7 contactor (for remote control) and an enclosure (with matching environmentally approved thru-the-door handle disconnect mechanism) to meet all requirements for a Construction Type E or F Combination Starter. Sprecher + Schuh Combination starters are smaller and less expensive than Classic Construction Type A (Fusible), or Type C (Thermal-magnetic Molded Case Circuit Breaker) as offered in Section C of the E-catalog. The CX7 Non-Reversing and CXU7 Reversing starters are offered in the following types:

• Non-metallic enclosed Combo KwikStarter with AC or DC coils available as factory assembled or in kit form for field assembly
• Metallic enclosed Combo starter with AC or DC coils
• Explosion-proof enclosed with AC or DC coils
• A variety of pilot devices and modifications are available

Simplex and Duplex Pumping

KTA7 Motor Circuit Controllers, plus CA7 Contactors, are also offered for Simplex and Duplex pumping applications. The UL508 construction Type E/F Self-Protected Combination Controller reduces the size and cost of pump panels. Sprecher + Schuh Simplex pump panels come standard with a start button, a Hand-Off-Auto selector switch, and extra blank space for field mounted timers or other controls. Duplex pump panels include an alternating relay, and provision for multiple float switches.

Customized To Meet Your Needs

The KT7 and CX7 Series of enclosed Motor Circuit Controllers are completely customizable through standard catalog modification tables or Sprecher + Schuh's custom controls panel shop. Common modifications for additional components include:

Type E/F Self-Protected Combination Controllers are a perfect fit for control panels that require multiple motor starters and other controls. Sprecher + Schuh can design and build custom control panels to fit your application. Three-phase bus bar systems can be built into multi-starter panels providing an efficient and cost effective assembly solution.
