Wiring D7 Potentiometers

Question:

How do you wire the D7P-POT* potentiometers? Why are there 3 terminals on the potentiometer?

Answer:

These devices have three terminals on them, but depending on your circuit, application or how the device is to be used, you may only need to wire to two of the terminals. You can wire the potentiometer to go from 0 Ohms to its maximum Ohm value or from its Maximum Ohm value to 0 (when the dial is rotated).

When you wire to terminals 1 and 2, you should read from 0 to the maximum Ohms Rating of the potentiometer as you turn from minimum left to maximum right of the dial.

When you wire terminals 2 and 3, you should read from the Maximum Ohms to 0 Ohm rating of the potentiometer as you turn from minimum left to maximum right of the dial.
